Built for Community
Nuestra Familia was founded in Sunland, California with a clear and urgent mission: to bridge the gap that separates underserved families from the mental health and social services they need and deserve.
Founded by Karla, a passionate advocate with deep roots in the community, the agency was built on the belief that effective care must be culturally responsive — meeting families where they are, in the language they speak, and with an understanding of the cultural values they hold dear.
Over the years, we have expanded our services to include individual and family counseling, resource navigation, case management, and community outreach — all designed to foster healthier, more resilient families and neighborhoods throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

Karla
Founder & Executive Director
With over 15 years in social services and counseling, Karla founded Nuestra Familia to fill a critical gap in culturally responsive care for underserved communities in the greater Los Angeles area.
Dr. Elena Reyes
Clinical Supervisor, LCSW
Dr. Reyes brings expertise in trauma-informed care, family systems therapy, and bilingual mental health services, ensuring the highest clinical standards across all programs.
Marco Fuentes
Community Outreach Coordinator
Marco grew up in Sunland and is deeply invested in the community he serves. He leads outreach initiatives, partner relationships, and resource navigation programs.
